Lincoln, Tillamook Counties to Receive Secure Rural Schools Funds

Oregon's two senators have announced $47.7 million in federal funding will be going to rural schools and other projects in the state, the Oregonian reports.

The money is coming from the Secure Rural Schools Act, which was first passed in 2000.

Oregon's Sen.

Ron Wyden, who co-authored the act, says it has "helped rural communities in Oregon and across the nation to be even better places to live and work."

The money will go to schools, road maintenance, youth training, and more.
