Indiana Educators selected for fellowship to bring creativity into the classroom

The Indiana Department of Education has just announced its 2019 fellows for the state's Creative Teaching Fellowship, a program that aims to help teachers "implement creativity-centered innovation in the classroom," per a press release.

This year's fellows will receive $1,000 each to attend virtual training sessions that focus on integrating the arts and creativity into the classroom, as well as a full semester of training sessions that follow.

The release notes that these kinds of creative teaching strategies have been shown to increase student engagement, learning retention, and student literacy, among other things.
