When Ferdinand and Mafalda DelGrosso were starting out in the food industry in Pennsylvania in the 1940s, they didn't have much.
But over the next 77 years, the DelGrossos have donated millions of dollars to a wide range of causes, including food pantries, children's Miracle Network organizations, and arts organizations, per a press release from the Central Pennsylvania Community Foundation.
"The generosity of the DelGrosso family is a continuing legacy that began 77 years ago and has grown into the family's third generation," says Michael DelGrosso, chief sales and marketing officer of DelGrosso Foods, which is based in Altoona.
"Some of the larger donations focus on faith, family, health, education, and the arts."
The DelGrossos were recently honored with the CPCF's Philanthropy Award, with Michael DelGrosso noting his grandparents "had humble beginnings, but that their love of helping those in need has been a foundation 'of all things DelGrosso.'' Read the Entire Article
