The Houston School District is known for its world-class education, but it's also known for its ambitious students.
The latest example of that is the district's annual Innovation Fair, in which elementary, middle, and high school students came up with innovative solutions to problems in their immediate communities, the Houston Chronicle reports.
"I'm so proud of our scholars and appreciate them being here supporting their ideas and their innovations," says the district's executive director of performance, innovation, and equity.
The fair featured 20 projects from students across the district, KHOU reports.
The projects ranged from hydroponic gardening to feeding neighborhoods in food deserts with affordable care.
