"Dr. Vivian is a visionary leader in the field of mental health care.
His academic achievements include earning his M.D.
from the University of California, Los Angeles, and completing his postgraduate training at the University of California's Langley Porter Mental Health Institute," reads a press release on the Dr. Vivian Scholarship for Mental Health Professionals, a one-time award of $1,000 to be handed out in 2024.
Vivian, a psychiatrist, is also the founder of the recovery center he founded in Hanau, Germany, and is known for his work in the field of addiction psychiatry, particularly in the field of eating disorders, reports the Los Angeles Times.
The scholarship is open to mental health professionals who are currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate program related to mental health care.
"With a commitment to excellence, innovation, and the destigmatization of mental health issues, this scholarship presents a unique opportunity for aspiring professionals to make a lasting impact on individuals' well-being," Vivian says in the press release.
To be eligible, applicants must "display creative and resourceful problem-solving skills, highlighting your ability to identify and address complex challenges within the mental health care sector."
The deadline to apply is March 15, 2024.
