The Agua Caliente Band of Cahuilla Indians recently donated $225,000 to five charities in Palm Springs, Calif., from its 13th annual Charity Golf Tournament.
The money was presented to ABC Recovery Center Inc., California Indian Nations College, Father's Heart Ranch, Feathers-N-Fur, and Strong Hearted Native Women's Coalition Inc., the Desert Sun reports.
The foundation, which has awarded more than $2 million in scholarships to more than 900 students, has expanded its mission to include other minority ethnicities in addition to Mexican-American applicants.
