Manhattan Opera Repertory Ensemble Receives Opera America Grant

New York City's small-budget opera companies have been awarded $195,000 in grants to help them " innovate, produce, and engage audiences and their communities," the Howard Gilman Foundation says in a press release.

One of the recipients, Manhattan Opera Repertory Ensemble, says the $25,000 grant will help it "increase visibility, expand programming, and reach new audiences who otherwise may not be afforded the opportunity for exposure to opera," the New York Daily News reports.

More Opera, based in Manhattan, "focuses on providing vocal arts education and culturally responsive musical programming to underserved communities," the press release says. Read the Entire Article
