A Buffalo Bills player suffered a heart attack on the field during a game in January, and now the NFL team and the American Heart Association are teaming up to raise awareness of the importance of CPR, USA Today reports.
"Knowing how to respond in a cardiac emergency when seconds matter is literally the difference between life and death," AHA CEO Nancy Brown says in a press release.
That's why the Bills are donating $1 million over five years to bring Hands-Only CPR demonstrations to community events, organizations, and youth sports groups in Western New York.
The training kits will include automated external defibrillators, or AEDs, which can be used to restart a person's heart after they've suffered a heart attack.
"CPR, especially if performed immediately, can double or triple a person's chance of survival," says Brown. Read the Entire Article
