When it comes to tech startups, the University of California San Diego has a pretty good track record.

The San Diego Union-Tribune reports the school has produced more than 1,000 startups over the past 30 years, and 25 of them took to the stage at San Diego's annual Innovation Day on Tuesday.

"San Diego powered by UC San Diego has one again demonstrated that it is a global leader in driving the future of so many technology sectors, creating entirely new industries in digital health, space innovation, defense, and climate adaptation through the convergence of existing technologies," says Associate Vice Chancellor for Innovation and Commercialization Paul Roben.

Among the startups that took to the stage at Tuesday's event: Personal.ai, Wild Genomics, AirSurgical, and OxyLo.

"We did all of our testing and initial earlier devices at UC San Diego, licensed our intellectual property at UC San Diego, and now we're building a company around it," says AirSurgical co-founder Akanimoh Adeleye. Read the Entire Article
