If you're looking for a good time while raising money for a good cause, try golf.

The Salvation Army in Virginia Beach held its annual " Swings Fore Strings" fundraiser on Saturday, hoping to raise $25,000 for its HeartStrings and valves program, which provides after-school music education to students with heart conditions, WAVY reports.

"You don't have to be a great golfer here, you can just have a lot of fun," area commander Major Chris Flanagan says.

"It's entertaining."

The program now has violins, guitars, trumpets, baritones, tubas, and more for students in first through sixth grade, program director Marleen Brewster tells 13News Now.

"Our students are mostly from Title 1 schools throughout the Hampton Roads area," she says.

"It's our goal to make sure that they can receive the same high-quality music education that other families can afford to receive."
