An Indiana high school senior has been named the Lilly Endowment Community Scholar for 2023, receiving a full scholarship to study to become a veterinarian.
Nathan Fillenwarth of DeKalb High School in Auburn "is the perfect example of what the Lilly Endowment Community Scholarship is all about: high community involvement, outstanding academic achievement, strong character, and positive leadership," says Tanya Young, executive director of the Community Foundation for DeKalb County.
Fillenwarth was chosen for his "active engagement, positive energy, and great enthusiasm in academics and community service," Young says.
Since its inception in 1998, the Lilly Endowment has awarded more than 5,000 Indiana students with $486 million in scholarships, the Indianapolis Star reports. Read the Entire Article
