They're dancing, they're sports, they're engineering craftsand they're all under the age of 21.
That's right, thousands of students in South Africa's Gauteng province put their skills to the test over the weekend at the second annual Schools of Specialization (SoS) Festival, the Guardian reports.
"The purpose of the GDE SoS Festival is to bring all the Schools of Specialization together to celebrate the knowledge and skills of our learners," Matome Chiloane, South Africa's MEC for education, said in a statement.
"Learners have been displaying their unique talents and innovations in each discipline."
Among the activities that took place at the event, which was attended by thousands, were dancing, sports, and media, as well as engineering crafts and technology.
Per Chiloane, "the aim is to attract industry partners who are willing to partner with Schools of Specialization.
Industry partners are encouraged to provide long-term support such as job shadowing, bursaries, industry experiences and post-career parting for our learners; ultimately, these learners will feed back into the economy of South Africa."
