A high school principal in Big Oak Flat Groveland, Calif., has been named the state's principal of the year by the California Association of School Administrators.
Claire Lamm, principal of Don Pedro High School, was chosen for her "exceptional leadership and commitment to student success," according to the ACSA.
"She goes beyond the traditional role of a principal by actively engaging with students, teachers, and parents to create tailored academic plans that cater to the specific needs of every learner," her superintendent says in a statement.
A fellow principal agrees: "There is little that would prevent Mrs. Lamm from bringing the best to her school," she says.
"She is devoted, continually seeking creative ways to inspire, and always ready to have fun at her school."
