Twenty schools gathered at Gayaza High School to exhibit their innovations at the National Science and Innovation Competitions, a STEM initiative by the Forum for African Women Educationalists Uganda.
According to Susan Opok Tumusiime, the executive director, FAWE Uganda, the competition was aimed at creating a platform where the participants can come up with ideas and innovations focused on addressing the needs of the community.
The competition allows the participants to use local materials with the expectation of seeing untapped talent of students, especially girls in research and innovation.
The competition soon uncovers the issue that there are fewer numbers of girls in STEM fields and aims to change that.
Innovations include a wheel-propelled sprayer, a home-made lift pump, a power-driven combined processor, among many others. Read the Entire Article

Rivaayat is an initiative by Shri Ram College of Commerce, Delhi to revive various dying art form and solve innumerable problems faced by the artisans. Rivaayat began with reviving a 20,000-year-old art form of pottery that is a means of survival for 600 families residing in Uttam Nagar, Delhi.
