Kay Stephens is a reporter for the Altoona Mirror, and she's been there for nearly 50 years.
She's also a president of the Pennsylvania Press Club, an affiliate of the National Federation of Press Women, and she's been a volunteer with Big Brothers/Big Sisters of Blair County and with the bell choir at First United Church of Christ in Ebensburg.
She's also won journalism contests from the Pennsylvania Newspaper Association, the Western Pennsylvania Press Club, the Pennsylvania Women's Press Association, the Pennsylvania Press Club, and the National Federation of Press Women.
Now, she's being honored by WISE Women of Blair County for her contributions to the community.
"I think Blair County will only benefit from the mission," Stephens, 68, tells the Mirror.
WISE stands for Women Involved in Scholarship and Empowerment, and it's "dedicated to empowering women and eliminating racism through collaboration, service, and education," per the group's website. Read the Entire Article
